Abstract
A pulse-train glass laser system are developed as a pump source of the recombining plasma X-ray laser. A 100-ps laser pulse from a mode-locked oscillator injects into a Michelson-type system to make 2 pulses and then each of these pulses is divided to 8 pulses with an optical pulse stacker, and finally a pulse train composed from 16 pulses is obtained. Each pulse has almost the same peak power, and the interpulse times between pulses are constant. The pulse train was amplified by glass amplifiers and line-focused on Al or Ca slab targets by a lens system.
