Abstract

In this work we measured specular reflectivity as well as x-ray spectra of the laser pulses incident on preformed metal plasma. By analyzing the experimental data with a theoretical model, we tried to understand quantitatively the absorption process of ultrashort optical pulses in preformed plasma as more efficient emitter of x-ray, which has not yet been studied in detail.
