Abstract

Photochromic (“greytrack”) damage has limited the use of KTiOPO4 (KTP) for frequency conversion applications in the visible. De-spite recent progress by a number of authors,1-3 particularly in regard to correlating damage susceptibility with growth and processing conditions, relatively little has been reported to date concerning the mechanisms and kinetics of the damage process.
