Abstract

When interfacing to HgCdTe detectors, means are sometimes employed to insure a uniform near-zero detector bias. Common circuit techniques include various autozero mechanisms and chopper stabilization. Rockwell has investigated several circuit and process schemes. This paper reports the conclusions of research on chopper stabilized long wavelength infrared (LWIR) HgCdTe focal plane arrays (FPAs). it has been determined that this circuit approach is not optimum due to the imposition of clock signals on the narrow band gap detector. The clock feedthrough leads to nonuniform performance degradation, which negates the general benefits.
