Abstract
Recent developments in multiwavelength architectures for interconnecting parallel processing computers1 and to form new types of large throughput packet switching system2 have caused intensified interest in wavelength switchable laser diode sources. These new architectures associate unique addresses with optical wavelengths and utilize fast wavelength switching to accomplish single-stage internally nonblocking interconnects.
