Optical coherence tomography for gastrointestinal endoscopy: clinical update

Abstract

Current results are presented of ongoing clinical trials of optical coherence tomography for gastrointestinal endoscopy. Preliminary results of imaging in normal organs, Barrett's esophagus and comparison with endoscopic ultrasound indicate strong potential for diagnostic utility.
