Phase Noise in DFB Lasers for Different Optical Injection Locking Regimes

Abstract

We investigate the locking behavior of a DFB laser as a function of master laser wavelength and intensity. We find significantly more phase noise reduction when injecting with a negative frequency offset. This can be replicated in numerical modelling and explained by the Bogatov effect.
