Phase noise characteristics of injection-locked lasers operated at low injection powers

Abstract

Optical injection locking at -65 dBm input power is demonstrated by using an electrical phase-locked loop and an EDFA pre-amplifier. A slave laser output phase noise below 6 degrees (rms) was confirmed.
