Abstract

We demonstrated an all solid-state mid infrared laser source. The source is diode pumped, and employs multiple stage optical parametric oscillators to produce laser radiation in the mid infrared region between 2.5 and 4 μm. The laser source is compact, light weight and capable of being air-cooled. The electrical efficiency of the laser is near 1%. The output power at 4 μm was 280 mW, while the combined power at 2.5 and 4 μm was 610 mW.
