Abstract

We have generated greater than 60 mJ, 20 nsec singlemode sodium resonance radiation by the sum frequency mixing from two injection seeded pulsed Nd: YAG lasers operating at 20 Hz. The observed spectral linewidth of the 5891.58 nm radiation is measured to be less than 100 MHz and frequency stability is better than 100 MHz per hour.
