Pistachio Nuts Contaminant Detection Using Fluorescence Spectroscopy and Quadratic Discriminant Analysis

Abstract

We present a non-destructive pistachio nut screening using fluorescence spectroscopy and Quadratic Discriminant Analysis, simultaneously detecting shells, tree parts and aflatoxins, while achieving a classification efficiency of 99.2 % for the healthy pistachio kernels.
