Abstract
A novel half cavity random fiber laser is demonstrated by using erbium-doped fiber as gain media, a fs-laser introduced random fiber grating to provide random distributed feedback and a strong chirped-fiber Bragg grating to form half-cavity configuration. A relatively low threshold power of 33 mW is achieved for 980 nm pump.
