Accurate and Robust Timing and Frequency Synchronization for Coherent Optical Communication Systems

Abstract

We propose an accurate and narrow-band-interference tolerant timing and frequency synchronization method for polarization-division-multiplexed (PDM) coherent optical systems. This method provides accurate estimates even at low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and long distance optical fiber channel.
