Background Noise of Hollow-core Photonic Bandgap Fiber Gas Cell Used in Frequency Stabilized Lasers

Abstract

Hollow-core photonic bandgap fibers are used to make gas cells for frequency stabilized lasers. Far-field instability due to inter-mode interference is observed. Intensity variations with laser frequency and temperature of different gas cell configurations are investigated.
