Adiabatic transfer of light via a continuum in optical waveguides
Interesting results and a novel perspective of light transfer between waveguides via a continuum are demonstrated in this experiment. The authors apply to optics the idea of coherent population transfer via a continuum developed in atomic physics and demonstrate the possibility of efficient light transfer among femtosecond-laser-written waveguides indirectly coupled via a common continuum. Spatially resolved fluorescence measurements are presented to map the flow of light in the photonic structure.
