Abstract

Power coupling coefficients at the interaction regions in a single-mode channel waveguide can be nondestructively measured by an optical heterodyne interferometer. The interferometric method is useful for design and performance evaluation of the guided-wave devices used for a frequency-division multiplexing transmission system.
