Optically addressed light modulators with a large photoinduced phase increment

Abstract

Optically addressed liquid–crystal spatial light modulators with high sensitivity to recording radiation and a maximum phase increment of as much as 7π have been fabricated and investigated. This increment can be reached by controlling the transmission of the structures with either light or electric field.
