Design and optimization principles of image-processing algorithms when they are implemented on built-in processor systems

Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of existing methods for designing built-in processor systems and an appropriate set of apparatus for them from the viewpoint of constructing systems that include image processing. Conclusions are drawn concerning possible configurations of this kind of systems and the set of components needed for this. The main principles for constructing image-processing systems are next indicated, along with the principles for optimizing existing algorithms for two selected design methods, using configurable systems-on-a-chip and digital signal-processing processors.
