Abstract
This paper shows that a new method of converting IR images into visible images, based
on a silicon waveguide microcavity in which thermal-vision IR-converter arrays are
constructed that perceive a temperature contrast of about 10<sup>−3</sup>K, can be used to obtain a spatial resolution of 25μm when the radius of the closed optical silicon waveguide is 10μm and the energy of the IR radiation incident on it is 5.6×10<sup>−10</sup>J, with a frequency of the full-frame regime of 50Hz.
