Abstract

This paper establishes a connection between the mathematical expressions for the longitudinal aberrations of the normals of the surfaces that form an afocal two-mirror system (ATMS) corrected for spherical aberration for an axial pencil of rays and presents a generalized global solution of the ATMS. An algorithm is developed for calculating oblique meridional pencils of rays transmitted through an ATMS.
