Optical shaping of a large aspheric mirror composed of silicon carbide

Abstract

This paper describes the optical processing of the surface of a large aspheric mirror 630 mm in diameter with maximum asphericity equal to 71 µm and degree of lightening greater than 70%, composed of silicized silicon carbide.
