Abstract

The Monte Carlo method is used to demonstrate the possibility of regularizing multifilamentation under conditions of atmospheric turbulence by using a spatial periodic phase structure (a lens array or a profiled mirror). A quality criterion of the array is determined, associated with the transition region between adjacent lenses. It is shown that an array whose lenses are arranged on concentric circles makes it possible to achieve simultaneous formation of a bundle of many filaments along the radiation-propagation direction.
