Abstract
This paper proposes regression models for calculating the radiance spectra of the upward radiation from various types of terrestrial surface and clouds, observed from altitudes of up to 10 km. Each model provides its own combination of parameters that can be chosen to predict the spectra with the minimum error. The results of aerial measurements of the spectral radiance of upward radiation in the 2-5.5-µm range over various natural underlying surfaces were used as the initial statistical ensemble. © 2004 Optical Society of America
