## Abstract

New band systems were found in the spectra of AsO and PO molecules excited by short-wave oscillations. The new bands of AsO arise from a transition *A′*^{2}Π* _{i}*(

*a*) →

*X*

^{2}Π

*, and their band heads can be arranged in a system given by the formula: $\nu =\left\{\begin{array}{c}26480\\ 25145\end{array}\right\}+633.0({\upsilon}^{\prime}+\frac{1}{2})-3.5{({\upsilon}^{\prime}+\frac{1}{2})}^{2}-966.2({\upsilon}^{\prime}+\frac{1}{2})+4.9{({\upsilon}^{\u2033}+\frac{1}{2})}^{2}.$ Two new systems*

_{r}*F*→

*B*and

*G*→

*B*were identified in the spectrum of PO. The term values of the

*F*and

*G*states are about 55585 and 56358 cm

^{−1}. New bands were found in the known

*D*→

*B*system which lead to the following constants for the

*D*state ${T}_{e}=\left\{\begin{array}{c}48955\\ 48926\end{array}\right\}$ and

*ω*≅ 755 cm

_{e}′^{−1}.
