New Color Projection System

Abstract

An optical system has been devised for projecting images in color. The color is selected by the spacing of diffraction gratings in each picture element and their amplitude determines the intensity of the element. The gratings can be formed either by a photographic process or by an electron beam in a simultaneous color television projection system. An improved primary color system is presented for use with this projector.
