Abstract

In response to emerging 5G fronthaul technology needs and low-cost scale deployment requirements, a novel CWDM and Circulator Integrated Semi-active system for 5G fronthaul is proposed. The proposed system can support six 25 Gbit/s fronthaul channels, protection switching, online real-time signal power detection of multiple working wavelengths, and reflected signal power detection. Laboratory and field experimental data demonstrate the system's availability, offering a new cost-effective approach for the deployment of 5G fronthaul systems at the operator scale.
