Abstract
This paper focuses on the spectral manipulation of Brillouin gain in two-mode few-mode fiber (FMF); modal Brillouin interaction is realized by launching a 2nd probe beam. With this technique, we can obtain the desired Brillouin gain spectrum in each mode by modal Brillouin interaction, which involves the modal Brillouin loss and the superposition of modal Brillouin acoustic waves. Experiments demonstrate accurate measurement of the desired intra-modal Brillouin gain spectrum with reduced influence from inter-modal crosstalk.
