Abstract

In order to explain the presence of a paper on the subject of thermionic electron emission from carbon and its relation to the carbon arc in the program of this Symposium on Spectroscopic Sources, I should like to quote from a letter that I received from Dr. Hughes, your Chairman for this meeting.
