Abstract

Transfer of digitized spectra between computer systems has become an essential tool in spectroscopy facilities, given the advantages of micro-computer spread-sheet and desktop publishing programs for spectral manipulation. System-to-system incompatibilities, however, can make some transfers rather difficult. A C language program has been developed to provide a simple, rapid transfer of data from UNIX™ systems (and its subset IDRIS™) to MS-DOS™ systems. By modification of these routines, the general algorithms could be used with other machine combinations, e.g., Perkin-Elmer (P-E) 7500 to Macintosh™.
