Abstract

An <i>ab initio</i> dipole moment function is used to predict line strengths for <i>v</i>1, <i>v</i>2, <i>v</i>3, and 2<i>v</i>2 bands of H2O and for the <i>v</i>1 band of HDO. Except for lines in the <i>v</i>1 band of H2O, <i>ab initio</i> and observed line intensities are in reasonable agreement.
