Abstract

The advantages of pyrolytic graphite when a graphite electrothermal atomization source is used in atomic absorption spectrometry have been well documented. L'vov found that with the use of pyrolytic graphite sample diffusion through the graphite was eliminated. The increase in sensitivity and reduced memory effects, when carbide-forming substances are to be analyzed, is also well known and has been shown adequately elsewhere.
