Abstract

In flame photometry, it is often desirable to scan the flame vertically. A device for moving the burner up and down on a Beckman DU spectrophotometer has been reported by May, Kramer, and Curtis (1) and also by Beck (2). These devices, have two disadvantages: a) they require some fairly complicated machine work to construct and b) when the burner alone is moved up and down, the adjustment of the solution feed is destroyed.
