Abstract

A new infrared micro cell manufactured by the Connecticut Instrument Corporation for the direct collection of small fractions from a gas chromatograph has a volume of less than one μl and is designed for use with a beam condenser. In this laboratory, a Perkin-Elmer KBr disc holder has been modified for use with this Type "D" micro cell. Excellent spectra may be obtained on a Perkin-Elmer Model 21 spectrophotometer without a beam condenser.
