Abstract

A real-time coherent optical interferometric image addition and subtraction system based on a technique similar to an earlier work by Kunstmann and Spitschan [ Opt. Commun. 4, 166 ( 1971)] is extensively investigated. Theoretical analysis of the system has been compared with experimental data. Distortion and resolution power of the system with respect to the size and positions of the input images have been analyzed in detail.
