Abstract
A two-Bragg cell acoustooptic processor has been used to obtain the continuous Fourier transform of real signals. The processor implements the multiply-convolve-multiply version of the chirp transform algorithm. The processor is analyzed; and frequency characteristics, such as the spectral analysis bandwidth (25 MHz) and spectral resolution (0.2 MHz), are obtained and compared to observations. The baseband real and imaginary components of the transforms of simple input signals are obtained using a narrow bandwidth approximation technique.
