Mode-selective O-H stretching relaxation in a hydrogen bond studied by ultrafast vibrational spectroscopy

Abstract

The 200 fs decay of O-H stretching population in an intramolecular hydrogen bond is governed by mode-selective excitation of fingerprint modes with a significant O-H bending character, followed by energy randomization within 10 ps.
