Abstract

The intensity dependent transmission of picosecond ruby laser pulses of different duration through methanolic and ethanolic solutions of rhodamine B and rhodamine 6G is studied. The transmission is affected by S0-Sn two-photon absorption, stimulated emission at the pump laser frequency, amplified spontaneous emission, and excited state absorption.
