Anomalous Pulse Duration Dependence of the Quasicontinuum Absorption Spectrum

Abstract

The study of the infrared absorption spectrum of large polyatomic molecules can potentially yield insight into the nature of interaction between the large number of vibrational states in the molecule. We report here a study of the effect of pulse durations on such spectra. Various polyatomic molecules were studied.
