Distributed Strain Sensing with Simple System Based on Slope-Assisted BOTDA Using Both Gain and Loss Spectra

Abstract

We demonstrate real time distributed strain sensing by slope-assisted Brillouin optical time domain analysis using both loss and gain spectra, where the system is simplified by using deep intensity modulation and serrodyne phase modulation.
