Abstract
The recent development of monochromatic tunable coherent sources in the vacuum ultraviolet1, together with the use of supersonic jet expansion for the formation of ground-state rare gas molecules2 has enabled us to obtain new high-resolution spectra of Xe2, Kr2, and Ar2 and to perform lifetime studies of selected rovibronic levels at low pressures (10−3 torr).
