Abstract

The x-ray line emissions in keV range are efficiently generated in 1aser-produced plasmas. However the generation mechanism of these line emissions has not been clarified so far. The investigation on the generation mechanism is particularly interesting since it might lead to a new scheme for generating coherent radiation in the keV region. The points of arguments mainly include from what ionic species these x-ray lines are emitted and how the inner shell vacancy or vacancies are created in laser produced plasmas1).
