Achieving Fine Bit-Rate Granularity with Hybrid Subcarrier Modulation

Abstract

We assess the performance of hybrid subcarrier modulation to enable time-independent fine bit-rate granularity. Employing polarization interleaving and optimized format allocation, we found similar performance to time-domain hybrid formats.
