Slow Light Enhanced Nonlinear Effects in Periodic Structures

Abstract

We review our recent advances related to slow light enhancing nonlinear optics in periodic structures. Highlights include demonstration of ultracompact optical switching and correlated photon generation exploiting four-wave mixing in dispersion engineered silicon photonic crystals.
