Demonstration of Photonic Anomalous Floquet Topological Insulators

Abstract

We demonstrate first experiments on photonic anomalous Floquet topological insulators in an explicitly periodically driven system. Contrarily to usual understanding, these waveguide lattices support topological edge modes although Chern numbers of all bands are zero.
