Aperture symmetry and lattice arrangement modulated second-harmonic emission from sub-wavelength metallic apertures

Abstract

We measure strong angular dependent second-harmonic generation from sub-wavelength aperture arrays with disordered, Penrose and square arrangements with different shapes. These measurements help to resolve the role symmetry plays in second-harmonic generation from aperture arrays.
