Abstract
Methods to prepare multi-particle entangled slates of atoms and to entangle the collective degrees of freedom of separate systems each containing many atoms are presented. The use of entanglement in high-precision measurements and in continuous variable quantum information are discussed and the status of experiments will be reviewed.
