Optical spectroscopy of single semiconductor quantum dots

Abstract

Low temperature confocal optical microscopy is used to spectroscopically study emission from a single semiconductor quantum dot. The spectrally sharp transitions between discrete confined multiexcitonic states are quantitatively explained using a few interacting carrier Hamiltonian
