Free carrier dephasing in InP

Abstract

Four-wave mixing (FWM) in bulk semiconductors has offered much information about exciton dephasing but less about free carriers because of the much faster dephasing rale. In GaAs, early efforts1 to obtain details of carrier dephasing processes were hampered by lack of tunability and spectral resolution (resulting from the short pulses that were used).
