Abstract

There has been much interest in the generation of squeezed-slate light in χ(3) media, such as squeezed-state generation in an atomic beam,1 atomic vapor,2 and optical fiber.3 However, in the case of atomic vapor, self-focusing was found to seriously limit the amount of squeezing.2 In the case of optical fiber, guided acoustic noise (GAWBS noise) caused difficulties that bad to be circumvented through various methods, such as low-temperature cooling of fiber and careful balancing of a nonlinear Sagnac interferometer.3 Moreover, because of the low nonlinearity in optical fibers, a typical fiber length of 5-50 m had to be used.
