Abstract

Optical phase conjugation through degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM) has been observed it many different gases, liquids, and solids. In liquids such as CS2, molecular reorientation is the dominant contribution to the third-order susceptibility .χ(3) that mediates the DFWM process Such media are called non re sonant Kerr-liks media when the photon energy is outside the absorption region.
